Answers about the Quiz regarding your abode in heaven.
Q1) Where does God inhabit? (Clue: It is something that you are responsible for creating.)
A1) God inhabits the praises of His people.
Here is the verse that points to this.
But You are holy,
Enthroned in the praises of Israel. (Psalm 22:3 NJJV)
We know Paul and Silas were imprisoned. In spite of the situations and circumstances, they sang hymns and praised God. We know that the Word of God says, “God inhabits the praises of the people.” Knowing this truth, Paul and Silas started to praise God by singing hymns and singing praises to God. God inhabits the praises of the people. A supernatural miracle occurred. God’s presence brought freedom to Paul and Silas. The earth quaked, prison doors were open and chains were broken. God’s presence brought all these changes.
Here are the verses from the Bible.
But at midnight, Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them. Suddenly, there was a great earthquake so that the foundations of the prison were shaken; and immediately all the doors were opened and everyone’s chains were loosed. ( Acts 16: 25-26)
You may not be in prison. But you may feel that your present situation and circumstances limit you. You have a choice to make. Choose to Praise God. Have a time of Praise and Worship. As you exalt God over and above the circumstances and situations you face. You start trusting God with all your heart. The situation is bound to change.
Remember that God never leaves us or forsakes us. This is what the Bible says…
Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the Lord your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you. (Deuteronomy 31:6 NKJV)
Remember to Trust the Lord with all your heart. Lean not to your understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him. He will lead you in the right path. Here is the corresponding verse.
5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
And lean not on your own understanding;
6 In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He shall direct your paths. (Proverbs 3:5-6)
Remember it’s time to praise and worship God – enthrone God in your praises as mentioned in Psalm 22:3, earlier in as part of this answer.
You are bound to experience breakthrough and freedom – because you have God’s presence manifesting in power for you.
Q2) We know that God is present everywhere, even in the depths of hell. Why do we hear people speak/mention, “God’s presence is in this place!”?
A2) We know that God is present everywhere. The verses from Psalm 139 explain it well.
Where shall I go from your Spirit?
Or where shall I flee from your presence?
If I ascend to heaven, you are there!
If I make my bed in Sheol, you are there!
If I take the wings of the morning
and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea,
even there your hand shall lead me,
and your right hand shall hold me. (Psalm 139:7–10 ESV)
In the New Testament book, Epistle to the Hebrews, we read…
And no creature is hidden from his sight, but all are naked and exposed to the eyes of him to whom we must give account. (Hebrews 4:13 ESV)
This verse makes it once again clear that any place we go, God sees us. God is everywhere. This includes our home, place of work or war, gardens, and any good or evil place. We may or may not feel it or experience the presence of God in all these places. Even in places of injustice, it is possible that we may feel or think God is not present. But that is untrue. God is present everywhere, and he can see us and knows where we are.
The God’s presence referred to in the 2nd part of the question refers to the tangible presence – a presence one can sense, know, or feel. We come across tangible presence during our individual prayer or worship, or prayers as a group of people or in a church, etc. This can also be divine encounters, visions, etc.
When Jacob was running away to escape from his brother Esau, on his way to Haran from Bersheeba, he stopped at a place called Bethel. He slept there, resting his head on a rock. That night, he had a dream.
16 Then Jacob awoke from his sleep and said, “Surely the Lord is in this place, and I did not know it.” 17 And he was afraid and said, “How awesome is this place! This is none other than the house of God, and this is the gate of heaven!” (Genesis 28: 16-17)
This is one of the many instances when God’s presence in a place is expressed specifically. In the above verse in blue, read the bolded fonts.
Moses saw the burning bush and was attracted to it. He heard the voice of God say that the place he stood was “Holy Ground”. Yet another instance of the tangible presence of God.
3 Then Moses said, “I will now turn aside and see this great sight, why the bush does not burn.”
4 So when the Lord saw that he turned aside to look, God called to him from the midst of the bush and said, “Moses, Moses!”
And he said, “Here I am.”
5 Then He said, “Do not draw near this place. Take your sandals off your feet, for the place where you stand is holy ground.” 6 Moreover, He said, “I am the God of your father—the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.” And Moses hid his face, for he was afraid to look upon God. (Exodus 3:3-5 NKJV)
Many instances of encounters with the tangible presence of God are mentioned in the New and Old Testaments of the Bible. Earnestly desire to experience God’s tangible presence. Sooner or later, you are bound to experience it, as you desire it.
Here is a verse that points to this. 20 Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, 21 to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen. (Ephesians 3:20-21 NKJV)
When we walk in obedience to the Lord, we experience the tangible presence of the Lord. When the Lord nudges us to seek Him at specific moments, we get to experience His tangible presence. Here is the verse from Isaiah 55:6:
Seek the Lord while He may be found,
Call upon Him while He is near. (Isaiah 55:6 NKJV)
Q3) What protocol do you follow to enter the gates of God’s temple?
A3) We need to enter the gates of God’s temple by thanking God.
This is clearly mentioned in the verse below.
Enter into His gates with thanksgiving,
And into His courts with praise.
Be thankful to Him, and bless His name. (Psalm 100:4 NKJV)
We know that protocols are to be followed strictly when we meet and engage with people in authority. Should we not follow protocols when we interact with the Lord of the Universe – a position very many times greater than the president or prime minister of a country?
As we follow the protocol, we will see that gratefulness arises. This effectively changes the mindset of the person who tries to enter God’s presence. You are bound to experience the tangible presence of God more often as you follow the protocol mentioned by God!
Q4) Why should a person not be anxious according to the Bible? (Use the clue to answer: The reason is connected with Heaven’s real estate.)
A4) We are asked not to let our hearts be anxious; instead, we are asked to believe in God and believe also in Jesus. We are also reminded that there are many mansions in God’s house, assuring that we should be rest assured that there are eternal mansions for us.
“Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. 2 In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. (John 14:1-2 NKJV)
Q5) Where are you, if you were to be inside something as per the Bible?
You are within Jesus. And we are within Jesus. Here is the verse reference. On that day, you will know that I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you. (John 14:20 NKJV). Many of us are not aware of these great privileges we have as we have accepted Christ Jesus as Lord and Saviour.
It’s important that we be determined to know where we are and our standing. Being aware that we have Jesus Christ within and that we are hidden in Christ gives us greater confidence.
Q6) As per the Bible, you have an important seat to sit on. Can you tell us something about it based on the Bible?
We are seated in Heavenly places with Jesus Christ. Here is the verse from Paul’s letter to the Ephesians. This is such a great privilege. The very thought gives us a superior confidence boost, empowering us to be God’s chosen instruments of Heavenly Father’s will in the lives of people around us. To become the Lord’s channels of Love.
4. But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, 5 even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), 6 and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, 7 that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. (Ephesians 2:4-8)
