Hosting God’s Presence: Declarations

Hosting the Holy Spirit Declarations

Many of us treasure the presence of the Holy Spirit to abide in us. There is nothing as precious as hosting the presence of the Spirit of God in our lives. But hosting the Holy Spirit requires a heart that seeks to please God and an earnest desire to keep your eyes, ears, mind, and body from a sinful lifestyle. After all, the Holy Spirit can only stay in a clean heart.

John the Baptist was told by the Spirit of God that the person on whom the Holy Spirit descends and remains is the person who will baptize with the Holy Spirit. Click here to read the passage on Jesus Christ hosting the Holy Spirit.

In the Old Testament, the Holy Spirit visited select persons from time to time. Whereas in the New Testament, after Jesus Christ’s crucifixion and resurrection, He sent the Holy Spirit for all disciples of Jesus Christ—which includes all of us. Growing into Sons of God, Claiming what belongs to you as sons of God

What we do not know does not define the absence or presence of anything.
Just because we do not see the sun shining bright, we cannot conclude the sun is dark at night. But often our understanding gets limited by what we perceive, as we as a default limit our understanding to what we see, what we hear. Some of us even after having grown up through school and college, do not choose to re-write the understanding of our mind that the sun shines 24×7 !

Heritage of sons of God

If our thinking is flawed in matters that we can understand and perceive, how flawed our thinking can be regarding spiritual matters – matters which are unseen. I wish you would read the prior sentence again and let it sink within you.

Obey God – the path to follow

Obey god

Obedience to God is the supreme path. Yet I did not obey. But with better understanding, I took that path more often. We can be blessed by choosing to obey God. Obey God, our creator. He knows the plan for our fulfillment, our joy, and our peace.

For I know the plans and thoughts that I have for you,’ says the Lord, ‘plans for peace and well-being and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. (Jeremiah 29:11)

Notes connected to Obedience

1. Why does obedience matter?

The choice to do physical exercise is an option that comes daily to us. We can either choose to do it or avoid it. Avoiding exercise may give us more time to rest—a short-term benefit. Yet we know when we choose to sacrifice rest by regular exercise, our body can become fit, we can live longer, and we can be free from sickness. A healthier body allows us to pursue the things we want to do and even help friends, family, and others around us.

Note: Benefits of obeying yourself and exercising and walking regularly are given at the bottom of this page.
