28 “And it shall come to pass afterwards
That I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh;

“And I will compensate you for the years
That the swarming locust has eaten,
The creeping locust, the stripping locust, and the gnawing locust—
My great army, which I sent among you.
Restoration, Blessing verses from Joel
Joel 2:25-27
“So I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten,
The crawling locust,
The consuming locust,
And the chewing locust,
My great army which I sent among you.
You shall eat in plenty and be satisfied,
And praise the name of the Lord your God,
Who has dealt wondrously with you;
And My people shall never be put to shame.
Then you shall know that I am in the midst of Israel:
I am the Lord your God
And there is no other.
My people shall never be put to shame.
Joel 2:32 NKJV
And it shall come to pass
That whoever calls on the name of the Lord
Shall be saved.
For in Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there shall be deliverance,
As the Lord has said,
Among the remnant whom the Lord calls.
Verses on the Holy Spirit, Prophecy from the Prophet Joel
Joel 2:28-29 AMP
“It shall come about after this
That I shall pour out My Spirit on all mankind;
And your sons and your daughters will prophesy,
Your old men will dream dreams,
Your young men will see visions.
“Even on the male and female servants
I will pour out My Spirit in those days.
The above came to pass on the day of Pentecost. Acts 2:1-4 NKJV
1. When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. 2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. 3 Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. 4 And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
Repentance and mourning verses from Joel
Joel 2:12-13 NKJV
“Now, therefore,” says the Lord,
“Turn to Me with all your heart,
With fasting, with weeping, and with mourning.”
So rend your heart, and not your garments;
Return to the Lord your God,
For He is gracious and merciful,
Slow to anger, and of great kindness;
And He relents from doing harm.
Joel 1:13-14 NKJV
Gird yourselves and lament, you priests;
Wail, you who minister before the altar;
Come, lie all night in sackcloth,
You who minister to my God;
For the grain offering and the drink offering
Are withheld from the house of your God.
Consecrate a fast,
Call a sacred assembly;
Gather the elders
And all the inhabitants of the land
Into the house of the Lord your God,
And cry out to the Lord.
Day of Judgement, Day of the Lord verses from Joel
Joel 3:14-15 NKJV
Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision!
For the day of the Lord is near in the valley of decision.
The sun and moon will grow dark,
And the stars will diminish their brightness.
Joel 2:1 NKJV
Blow the trumpet in Zion,
And sound an alarm in My holy mountain!
Let all the inhabitants of the land tremble;
For the day of the Lord is coming,
For it is at hand:
Joel 2:11 NKJV
The Lord gives voice before His army,
For his camp is very great;
For strong is the One who executes His word.
For the day of the Lord is great and very terrible;
Who can endure it?
Joel 1:15-16 NKJV
Alas for the day!
For the day of the Lord is at hand;
It shall come as destruction from the Almighty.
Is not the food cut off before our eyes?
Joy and gladness from the house of our God?
Verses on Destruction

The vine has dried up,
And the fig tree has withered;
The pomegranate tree,
The palm tree also,
And the apple tree—
All the trees of the field are withered;
Surely joy has withered away from the sons of men.

And Edom a desolate wilderness,
Because of violence against the people of Judah,

But Judah shall abide forever,
And Jerusalem from generation to generation.
For I will acquit them of the guilt of bloodshed, whom I had not acquitted;
For the Lord dwells in Zion.”

Why have I written this post on the Book of Joel?
The Lord used to quicken me about this book in very many ways. I had two clients at one time, called Joel – one from Abu Dhabi, the other from Dubai. Went on a trip to Ooty, where the main officiator at the wedding of my friend Tilak’s daughter was Joel. When meeting people, I would come across Joel more often than usual. Remembering that in all these instances the Lord was pointing me to the book of Joel, I would use these opportunities to dig deep and read this book of 3 chapters quite often.
When the same verse comes under various categories, I have used a different Bible version so that the same verse reads differently, so you get a different perspective. All this so that we enjoy reading this and draw near to our King and Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
I do not want the blessings that have come to be to stop there; I would prefer that what the Lord has blessed me with bless 1000s more across the nations. Bless you, my dear brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus.
