The Holy Bible’s Unparalleled Uniqueness and Power

The Holy Bible's Unparalleled Uniqueness and Power

The Bible is a treasure trove, for those who live life using it. It has great power because it is inspired by the Holy Spirit. The book will lead you to joy, hope, favour, peace, fruitfulness, wisdom, knowledge, discipline, healing, and freedom, among other things.

It is vital to nourish oneself on a daily basis by reading and reflecting on God’s Word. It enriches the individual in a variety of ways and makes his or her life more fruitful.

Psalm 1 mentions that a person who delight is in the law of the Lord (i.e. Holy Bible), is blessed, fortunate, prosperous and favoured by God. Such a man would be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, fruitful in every season. Verses 2 and 3 of Psalm 1. Blessed [fortunate, prosperous, and favored by God] is the man who ……… delight is in the law of the Lord,
And on His law [His precepts and teachings] he [habitually] meditates day and night.
And he will be like a tree firmly planted [and fed] by streams of water,
Which yields its fruit in its season;
Its leaf does not wither;
And in whatever he does, he prospers [and comes to maturity].

When we have the Word of God in our heart, stored within us with delight and honour towards it, the Word of God will keep us away from sin. It will come to our minds when various options come in front of us during the course of the day. The Word of God will direct us to take the right steps. This keeps us away from sin. So this is a beautiful way to please God. The verses which speak to you during the course of your daily reading, write them down. Read these daily, and the Holy Spirit will guide you to remember them. Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee. (Psalm 119:11)

God’s word is like water, refreshing and cleaning our souls. Refer Ephesians 5:25-26 Husbands, love your wives [seek the highest good for her and surround her with a caring, unselfish love], just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for her, so that He might sanctify the church, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word [of God].

The Word of God is powerful, it exposes our deep and hidden nature, our hypocrisy, our thoughts and intentions in our heart. For the word of God is living and active and full of power [making it operative, energizing, and effective]. It is sharper than any two-edged sword, penetrating as far as the division of the soul and spirit [the completeness of a person], and of both joints and marrow [the deepest parts of our nature], exposing and judging the very thoughts and intentions of the heart. (as in Hebrews 4:12).

The word existed from the beginning of creation. The Word of God is God Himself and has all the attributes of God, including the power attribute of being omnipotent. The Word became flesh in Jesus Christ. Thus, God and the word of God are meant interchangeably. In the beginning [before all time] was the Word (Christ), and the Word was with God, and the Word was God Himself. (ref. John 1:1) And the Word (Christ) became flesh (human, incarnate) and tabernacled (fixed His tent of flesh, lived awhile) among us; and we [actually] saw His glory (His honor, His majesty), such glory as an only begotten son receives from his father, full of grace (favor, loving-kindness) and truth.(ref. John 1:4)

The word of God is a shield and protects all those who trust in God. As for God, his way is perfect: the word of the Lord is tried: he is a buckler to all those that trust in him. ( reference Psalm 18:30)

The Word of God gives us direction, instruction, gives us light when darkness surrenders us, and we are in doubt, when we have options. Thy Word Is a Lamp Unto My Feet and Light Unto My Path. (Psalm 119:105) I will instruct you and show you the way you should walk, give you counsel with my eye upon you. (psalms 32:8)

The Word of God transforms our soul into coming subject to the Spirit man.Thus, transformation into being surrendered to God. The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple.(psalms 19:7) God’s Word is perfect and complete. It has been tried and tested. Thus, the Word of God is proven and trustworthy. The words of the LORD are pure words; as silver tried in a furnace on the earth, refined seven times.(psalms 12:6)

Daily reading of the Holy Bible with the goal of getting teaching from it, being transformed by it, and being directed by it is an opportunity that every Christian should take use of. Otherwise, it’s like missing out on a treasure trove given to you by the triune God – the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
