It’s important to have self-control. Control ones emotions and actions. This speaks about a verse person.
Proverbs 25:28 speak about this. The verses are given in 3 versions from the Bible.KJV He that hath no rule over his own spirit is like a city that is broken down, and without walls.
AMP He who is slow to anger is better and more honorable than the mighty [soldier], And he who rules and controls his own spirit, than he who captures a city.
ESV A man without self-control is like a city broken into and left without walls.
Self-control is very important to have. I used to be triggered into great anger. During those times, I used to shout with anger, my hands and feet would also be very expressive about my anger. Always realised later it was not the right thing to do.
But over the years repeatedly heard at church that although Jesus Christ was without any sin. Although no guilt could be found on Jesus, the people of Israel led by the religious authorities succeeded in crucifying Jesus. Yet all through the process Jesus never allowed his emotions to rule over him, Jesus simply zipped his lips to silence. He became my role model. Thanks to the many messages that I heard about it over the years. Also my wife who reminded me with grace and love.
Here are 3 versions of Proverbs 16:32
KJV He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty; and he that ruleth his spirit than he that taketh a city.
ESV Whoever is slow to anger is better than the mighty, and he who rules his spirit than he who takes a city.
AMP He who is slow to anger is better and more honorable than the mighty [soldier], And he who rules and controls his own spirit, than he who captures a city.
