These are two questions the prophet Isaiah asks in the Holy Bible. The book of Isaiah is a book in the Old Testament. It is one of the 66 books of the Bible, the Book Of Isaiah. The verse you see on the title of this article is from Chapter 40 verses 28.
I was reading this chapter and read it many times over. I did so for a few weeks. I was aware that there is more depth than what I understood when I first read it.. What do you understand from this verse? When we read 1GL, 2GL, 3GL, 4GL, 5GL in the context of computer science, we know that the are beyond alphanumeric numbers. Thus even in this verse, there is certainly a deeper connotation.
Since you may wish to continue reading this article, I am quoting from The Book Of Isaiah, Chapter 40, Verses 28 to 31.
28 Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding.
29 He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.
30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall:
31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
Spend a few minutes to see what you understand. Pause for a few minutes. Would be good if you do not read further. Pause, get up from your chair and take a few steps for 2 to 3 minutes. Think what do these 4 verses speak to you?.
… Now that you are back what were your thoughts?
This is what I got after a few weeks. I discovered questions, hidden in the verse.
You are supposed to know. You are supposed to hear and perceive this. You have had innumerable opportunities. Be it when you were a child growing in your family, at school, may be at church. Quite often we do not know. Often it seems like we have not heard deer only since we did not take the effort to have known & having heard. Being casual, not giving the attention it deserves when we are supposed to have known & heard. Casualness, not giving the importance it deserves is the key reason for the slip from our hand.
When we study Mathematics, Computer Science, French or any other subject, our attention to detail is greater since we value the need to learn, understand & score marks. Our slackness when it comes to our eternal journey results us to miss out on what’s significant. Sometimes I wonder if the drive is lacking because we are not certain that eternal life is a reality. For me, I must confess this was the reason. But having decided to change, I started focussing on preparing more for the eternal journey.
The verse 28 speaks further about the immeasurable wisdom & limitless strength which the creator of the earth has.
Verse 29 conveyed the very same creator gives strength & stamina to the weak & people who are weary.
We typically associate youth to have more strength & stamina than their older parents. Even though this youth & young people are is associated with stamina & enduring strength they would fail & fall.
But irrespective of your age, verse 31 gives you great assurance. , It doesn’t matter if you are 90+ or just 9+, the only requirement is waiting upon the Lord, If we do so, we will experience the Lord being our strength & might. They We will experience strength in multiple ways, strength in our body, mind, circumstances, relations,. Strength in terms of favours from, government regulations, favour from boss, clients, business ….
Do not be limited.
What the Lord says, HE will be the strength & perseverance for anyone under all circumstances provided they WAIT upon the Lord.
This is available to people of any age who have a relationship with HIM, who Wait upon HIM
