Declaration prayers to see and hear God’s perspective

Prayerfully declare the bolded version, twice daily for 3 months

Open my eyes, that I may see Wondrous things from Your law. (Psalm 119:18)

I walk in the Spirit, seeing what the Spirit Of God shows me. (based on Galatians 5:16)

I please God in what I see and hear, I do not fulfil the lust of the flesh. (based on Galatians 5:16)

I am in Christ, so I am a new creation, seeing what Jesus sees. All old things have passed away. (based on 2 Corinthians 5:17 If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. BEHOLD means – see something remarkable)

I am born again, and I can see the kingdom of God. (John 3:3, As told by Jesus to Nicodemus. Romans 14: 17 says the Kingdom of God is Righteousness, Peace, and Joy in the Holy Spirit)

I can see God as I am pure in heart. (Mathew 5:8, Ephesians 1:7 says “In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace)

I see opportunities God has placed around me. (Genesis 13:14-15 Abraham saw the land God marked for his possession, after Lot his nephew had chosen the well-watered land. Lot had wanted to part ways with Abraham as there were fights between his servant and his uncle’s servants. Abraham had a surrendered attitude to God’s will, whereas Lot was limited by what he saw – pointing to a carnal nature – limited to what we see or hear. Often many of us are like Lot.)

I refuse to be concerned about Lot’s possessions, although they appear to be good. (Genesis 13:14-15 Lot had chosen the well-watered land rich and green in appearance. Whereas Abraham trusted God, believing that what mattered was what God gave, not the current physical appearance of the land.)

I trust in God and believe in His provision for me, even if the blessings are not visible now. (Genesis 13:17, just what was mentioned above. Trust and patience are often required to grow the muscles of faith.)

I will see and receive the Lord’s provision for every assignment I take up. (Genesis 24:14, 20, like Eliezer, Abraham’s servant who went to search find a bride for Issac, Abraham’s son found the bride with ease as the Spirit of God directed him.)

God provides for every need, including taxes, and my eyes can see God’s provision for me. (Mathew 17:27, like Peter, who got the silver coin from the fish, like Abraham who got the lamb just when he was willing to sacrifice his son Issac in obedience to God )

By the Grace of God, I hear the enemy’s plan, and I am able to frustrate it. (2 Kings 6:9 as Elisha knew beforehand the secret plans of the Syrian King’s to attack Israel. Elishsa told this plan to the king of Israel. So the Syrian king was never able to launch a surprise attack.)

I see God’s perspective in situations and respond as Jesus would. (John 5:19, John 14:9-11)

I am God’s instrument for heaven encounters, for those around me. (John 14:12, a powerful promise from Jesus stating that those who believe in Him will do even greater works, because He is returning to the Father, enabling the Holy Spirit to empower believers for a greater works.)

I have the Grace of God to know people’s past and bring glory to God. (Refer to John 1:50. Nathaniel had initially refused to accept Jesus as he was born in Nazareth. But when Jesus told him he had seen him under the fig tree before Philip had called him, his mind totally changed, and he accepted Jesus Christ as the Messiah.)

I see heaven open, angels of God ascending and descending on the Son of man. (John 1:51, this was what Jesus told Nathaniel. What Jesus told Nathaniel is available for each one of us who desires this promise.)

God gives me Grace to see dreams, visions, and hear interpretations of dreams from God. (Genesis 41:25, like God gave Joseph & Daniel)

As I love God, He has prepared for me what eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor has anyone imagined. (1 Corinthians 2:9 version “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him.”)

Because I call unto God, He answers me and shows me great and mighty things, I did not know. (Jeremiah 33:3 says, “Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.”)

I receive the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of God. (Ephesians 1:17, revelation is spiritual seeing and knowing from God, the creator.)

All this I declare in the name of Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior. Amen!

Note: The above declarations are based on the verse references mentioned across the Bible. Of all these, one of my favorite is given below.

“Eye has not seen, nor ear heard,
Nor have entered into the heart of man
The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.” (1 Corinthians 2:9 version NKJV)

Biblical instances of people seeing and hearing supernaturally

Joseph, Israel’s (Jacob’s) son, saw dreams and even went to interpret dreams for the ruler. So did Daniel interpret dreams and saw dreams.

Joseph, Mary’s husband Joseph, saw dreams and was guided to marry Mary and travel with Mary and baby Jesus to a safer country.

When the Lord saw Zaccheus, the tax collector, Jesus saw salvation for Zaccheus and his family and the many residents of the city receiving the money wrongly collected by the tax collector Zacchaeus and more.

Unlike many Jews who avoided Samaria, Jesus saw what His father God had seen, salvation to the Samaritan lady and the whole village saved by the work of the one among the early evangelist in the Samaritain lady at the well.

These are just a few. Many more instances are there in the Bible for you to find out yourself.

Why should you expect to see and hear from God?

In Joel 2:28, we read that God pours out His Holy Spirit for His sons and daughters to dream dreams and see visions.

1 Corinthians 14 encourages us to see and hear God and prophesy. The verse goes like this. Pursue love, and desire spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy.

When we hear from God and speak, we prophesy towards edification and exhortation and comfort to men. (1 Corinthians 14:3)

Like God warned Abraham about impending doom in Sodom and Gomoroh, God also shows and speaks to people to warm and guide them.

What about hearing and seeing? Do we see well or hear well?

By default we see in part and hear in part.

Once we had a dear friend who came home for lunch. The moment she came to the dining room and noticed the last supper photograph she told there were only 11 disciples. Whereas we had the painting for over a year, but we never noticed that the number was not 12.

So many times you hear either friends, family or even colleagues at work mention they had not noticed or not read the details. Be it events, incidents or company documents, these not reading or noticing the details cause many issues. Some of these are costly slips.

The same goes with hearing, after a great sermon in the church, when we try to recall the key points of the message, many of us discover that a few points were not at all heard by some among us.

Hearing and seeing whats is required for us is important in the physical, normal world. Yet we see in part and hear in part and end up in issues. Once I recall, I reached a wedding venue travelling for a few hours a few weeks or a month earlier than the schedule!

Students, lawyers, doctors, parents, pastors and many others who see well and hear well, excel in their career and roles in life. So hearing and seeing better helps substantially.

Why seeing and hearing well matter?

When we hear well, and understand what we hear, we are like the good ground that yields 30 or 60 or a 100 fold.

But others fell on good ground and yielded a crop: some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty. 9He who has ears to hear, let him hear!” ( Mathew 13:8, 9 NKJV).

Whereas when we do not hear, we are like the ground that does not yield and bring results.
