Checklist for a true Christian (Faith)

Checklist for a true Christian

As a Christian, we need check list. Else as days goes by, we slip and often do not realise what we have slipped from. Having a check list of whats important is good. Here is a check list which is work in progress. I have been working on it for nearly a week. Certainly hope and pray that this helps in making an introspection on where you are. I would be most glad when this inspires you to make your own version of checklist.

Check list regarding Faith – basic
Do I have faith in God?
Am I aware that God when I live with faith in God, I please Him.
Do I diligently seek Him daily?
Am I confident that when I seek Him I will find Him. Especially when I seek Him with all my heart.
Do I know that God rewards those who diligently seek Him?
Do I have faith in the goodness of God?

It is important that we have a definite and a confident Yes for all the above.
It is important that the answer is may be for a Christian – a confident and determined yes, every day. The reason is simple. All the below verses directly address one or many of the points.

Notes:
Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
Jeremiah 29:13 And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.
Psalm 100:5 For the Lord is good; His mercy is everlasting, And His truth endures to all generations.

Check list regarding Faith – advanced
Do I know that faith is the substance of things hoped for?
Do I know that faith is the evidence of things not seen?
Do I know that by faith, the elders obtained a good testimony?
Do I know that Gods word made the World?
Do I know that it was the invisible that made the visible?

Notes: Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it the elders obtained a good testimony.
Hebrews 11:2 By faith we understand that the [c]worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.

Elders are our predecessors in Christian faith, right from Abraham, Issac, Jacob….Noha,………Mary, Joseph, Jesus, disciples and very many others)

This series will continue. I find that some of these I was not able to have the confidence and certainty that I expected me to have. I should be able to shout out these from the roof top. Thats the level of faith I want to have. I want father Abraham to be proud of his great great great grand son. I know thats a tall order. But why should I be limited by my present?

Even in other aspects of life, check lists are so important? Every few months I find myself asking for garlic & ginger along with my breakfast. For a few weeks, everyday I get these served in a special small dish in a regular and disciplined manner. Then it again stops. The main who serves this forgets. I again remind since I notice the absence. By that time, I would also have failed to notice for a few days. My son Joseppe is a check list guy. For important matters in life he maintains check list.

I will continue the above series.
