Bible Reading, the kingdom of God is at hand

Today’s verse is from Mark 1:15 Here is the verse from three versions of the Bible.

And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel. (version KJV)

“The time has come,” he said. “The kingdom of God has come near. Repent and believe the good news!” (version NIV)

and saying, “The [appointed period of] time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent [change your inner self—your old way of thinking, regret past sins, live your life in a way that proves repentance; seek God’s purpose for your life] and believe [with a deep, abiding trust] in the good news [regarding salvation].”(version AMP)

The kingdom of God is not far from you. It is as near, as near as a hand stretch. Often, we think wrongly that we will change and be a good person later. We postpone it to a later stage, preferring to continue in evil and wicked ways for the present. We hold on to that which seems to give us a short – term feeling good, while it drags us to a sin & sinful lifestyle.

Today’s passage is about now and today being the day for repentance. As you read this verse, you have the opportunity to decide against following the wicked path.

Knowing the fullness of life in Christ, knowing the freedom we have in Jesus, the victory we have, the joy we have in Him & through him, is amazing. Even when we face storms, the trust, hope in Him gives us peace of the victory which is coming soon.

The Bible has more than 7,000 promises for us, expressing the nature of God towards us. The provision for us in every problem situation was already figured out long before you were born.
The excitement and joy of that assurance in Christ Jesus is beyond words.

Be it the story of the tax collector Zacchaeus in whose home Jesus dined, Jesus never condemned him. But the very presence of Jesus transformed him and brought salvation and joy for Zacchaeus and his family. The instance when the Pharisees wanted to stone the lady caught in the act of adultery also speaks the same. Jesus never condemned her, but with love he told her, go and sin no more.

Choose the freedom which comes from receiving Jesus Christ as the Lord of your life. Spend time in the presence of Jesus, using the verse above. Pray a sincere prayer. Delight, much joy, and freedom will be yours.
