Why meditate on the Bible?

We should trust in God. We are neither to trust in man nor riches nor our selves.
Jeremiah 17:5-8 conveys this powerfully and effectively below.

5 This is what the Lord says:
“Cursed are those who put their trust in mere humans,
who rely on human strength
and turn their hearts away from the Lord.
6 They are like stunted shrubs in the desert,
with no hope for the future.
They will live in the barren wilderness,
in an uninhabited salty land.

Secure city and self-control

It’s important to have self-control. Control ones emotions and actions. This speaks about a verse person.

Proverbs 25:28 speak about this. The verses are given in 3 versions from the Bible.KJV He that hath no rule over his own spirit is like a city that is broken down, and without walls.

AMP He who is slow to anger is better and more honorable than the mighty [soldier], And he who rules and controls his own spirit, than he who captures a city.
ESV A man without self-control is like a city broken into and left without walls.

Perseverance, a significant character for a Christian

In a day and age in which quick solutions are popular, we recall how our parents persevered in bringing us up. Often they were so certain about the goodness in us, they made it plain that we could do it much better. When we had self-doubt about our ability, they were so certain that when we tried longer, when we tried more often, the results would be so different. Often it seemed that they knew for certain what could become of us, they did not have any doubt. They preserved in all certainty. We did not realise it then, but we realise it now.
