Called to Freedom

Whatever we slip into, we are slaves to. We do not want to go there, yet we visit! We should stop this.

It can be binge watching. It can be heavy social media usage. It can be envy. It can be laziness. Being disorganized. It can be pornography. It can be black sliding. Poor time management.

Whatever displeases Jesus we need to stop. A daily Bible reading is a starting place.

We may be wanting to stay away from these and many other shortcomings. Yet we may find that we slip into these time and again.

For he who is called in the Lord while a slave is the Lord’s freedman. Likewise he who is called while free is Christ’s slave. (1 Corinthians 7:22 NKJV)

Awareness that we have become a freedman dominates our minds and our thinking. The word of God is true. So do not be fooled.

Declare prayerfully:

I have been called in the Lord when I was slave to ……( name items that you were/are slave to )
I am now determined to walk and live a life in the Lord’s Freedom.
I am a freed man in and through Jesus Christ.
The spirit of the Lord reigns in me. I live in freedom.
Old natures and weaknesses are just gone and have no place in me.
I am a new creation in Christ.

Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. (2 Corinthians 3:17 NKJV)

We have the assurance that we are a new creation with Christ. Old attributes have passed away! Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. (2 Corinthians 3:17 NKJV)
