Reading the Bible connects a Christian with the Heaven Father. The Bible reveals God, the father, to His children. We discover the meaning and purpose for our life. From the Bible, we find treasures of provision God has set aside for our lives.
Reading the Bible is like milk for a baby. By reading, we get to know Jesus Christ, our Lord and savior, the very foundation of Christian faith. Every Christian gets to understand at first hand about God’s abundant love for us. We discover God’s love for us, why He let His only son Jesus Christ die on the cross only for our sins.

These are just a few of the reasons to read the Bible. There are many more reasons left out for you to discover.
The Bible authored by the Holy Spirit can never be fathomed by a man. So remember to dig deeper so that you have the joy of finding more reasons to read the Bible on your own, empowered by the Holy Spirit.
For a life of abiding peace irrespective of the circumstances of life, read the Bible. Regular reading builds and sustains understanding and trust. This builds faith required to abide in this peace.
The Bible verses given below show the superiority of peace of God. Trusting God and hoping in God are foundational stones for abiding peace. The verses are quoted from two versions of the Bible, so that one of them you may find more tuned for your understanding.
You will guard him and keep him in perfect and constant peace whose mind [both its inclination and its character] is stayed on You because he commits himself to You, leans on You, and hopes confidently in You.(Isaiah 26:3 AMPC)
You will keep him in perfect peace,
Whose mind is stayed on You,
Because he trusts in You. (Isaiah 26:3 NKJV)
Thus, from the verses, we understand that a person who stays committed to the Lord, hoping and learning from God, will be in continuous and perfect peace.
Thus, from the above verse, you can see that:
Peace of God is beyond all logic and reason.
Peace of God is a mighty fortress around your heart and mind.
and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:7 NKJV)
And God’s peace [shall be yours, that tranquil state of a soul assured of its salvation through Christ, and so fearing nothing from God and being content with its earthly lot of whatever sort that is, that peace] which transcends all understanding shall garrison and mount guard over your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:7 AMPC)
Many of us know that Jesus Christ is the Prince of Peace. As we have Him as the Lord over our lives, we have reason to abide in His peace.
And the government will be upon His shoulder. Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.(Isaiah 9:6 NKJV)
It’s possible that some of you are still wondering how to abide in Peace. Well, God expected this question from you. He has arranged the Holy Spirit sent by God. His job description is to teach us everything we need to know, including how to abide in Peace. So go ahead and ask the Holy Spirit. Ask with great expectation to hear. Do not hesitate. In the meantime, reading the verses mentioned above and thinking about it a couple of times will help you in the process.
But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you. Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. (John 14:26-27 NKJV)
This verse from the AMP version gives a more elaborate role of the Holy Spirit and the superior nature of Peace we receive from God.
But the Helper (Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor—Counselor, Strengthener, Standby), the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name [in My place, to represent Me and act on My behalf], He will teach you all things. And He will help you remember everything that I have told you. Peace I leave with you; My [perfect] peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be afraid. [Let My perfect peace calm you in every circumstance and give you courage and strength for every challenge.](John 14:26-27 AMP)
As you read the Bible and follow God’s instructions, you will soon discover the clear command not to be anxious about any matter, but in everything by prayer and petition make your wants known to God.
The bible clearly instructs on how to avoid all anxiety by taking specific action points.
Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in everything, by prayer and petition (definite requests), with thanksgiving, continue to make your wants known to God.
For the rest, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is worthy of reverence and is honorable and seemly, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely and lovable, whatever is kind and winsome and gracious, if there is any virtue and excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think on and weigh and take account of these things [fix your minds on them]. (Philippians 4:6-8 AMPC)
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Meditate on These Things: Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things. (Philippians 4:6-8 NKJV)
We are asked to cast our worries and anxieties on to Jesus, not to carry these burdens ourselves. Like transporting a physical object, we are asked to take our worries and giving it unto Jesus.
Casting the whole of your care [all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares for you affectionately and cares about you watchfully. (1 Peter 5:7 AMPC)
casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you. (1 Peter 5:7 NKJV)
We are asked to trust in God without leaning on what we know and understand, whatever that can limit us. We are asked to have supernatural expectations.
Lean on, trust in, and be confident in the Lord with all your heart and mind and do not rely on your own insight or understanding. In all your ways know, recognize, and acknowledge Him, and He will direct and make straight and plain your paths. (Proverbs 3:5-6 AMPC)
Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
And lean not on your own understanding;
In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He shall direct your paths.(Proverbs 3:5-6 NKJV)
We are to be joyful because we know that the joy of the Lord is our strength. Thus, irrespective of the circumstances we face, let us choose to have the Lord’s joy as the basis and reason for our joy.
Then [Ezra] told them, Go your way, eat the fat, drink the sweet drink, and send portions to him for whom nothing is prepared; for this day is holy to our Lord. And be not grieved and depressed, for the joy of the Lord is your strength and stronghold. (Nehemiah 8:10 AMPC)
The circumstances in our life may not be a joyful matter, yet as we have Jesus Christ as our Lord, we can choose to trust in Him and obey the instruction to rejoice always, choosing to pray always, even if we are washing the dishes or driving. And remembering reasons to be thankful to God helps us redefine the mental framework we carry and express.
Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 NKJV)
Be happy [in your faith] and rejoice and be glad-hearted continually (always);
Be unceasing in prayer [praying perseveringly];
Thank [God] in everything [no matter what the circumstances may be, be thankful and give thanks], for this is the will of God for you [who are] in Christ Jesus [the Revealer and Mediator of that will].(1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 AMPC)
Because the Bible says about our God, is the one who gives hope always in all circumstances, we can be filled with all joy and peace, that we abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Read the amazing verse below from Romans chapter 15, verse 13.
May the God of your hope so fill you with all joy and peace in believing [through the experience of your faith] that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound and be overflowing (bubbling over) with hope. (Romans 15:13 AMPC)
Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. (Romans 15:13 NKJV)
Provision required for our lives is given to us in the Bible, some in plain sight, some hidden for us to discover. Take time to read and think on the Bible regularly. The traditional, worldly provision is food, money, those which are governed by logic and reasoning. But we can receive from regular reading and meditation of the verses to a very superior level. Of the two kinds of provision, physical provision and spiritual provision, the latter is superior. Spiritual provisions are powered by promises and prophecies, dreams, visions, and the wisdom from God. We can receive them from God when he sovereignly decides. We can also receive it from Him as we seek it from Him.
The provisions of God enabled young boy David to defeat the giant who appeared stronger. The multitude of 5,000 men and women could be fed by breaking of five loaves of bread and two fishes as Jesus tapped into this provision from His heavenly father. The water is instantly transformed into superior wine through this provision from heaven. The gold coin from the fish provided provision to pay taxes for the disciples.
Jesus gives a perspective about provision from God that is important to have. The verse clearly says the word of God is a superior provision for life than physical bread. Hence, we should esteem the word of God as our source for our life and in all circumstances of life.
But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.” (Matthew 4:4 NKJV)
When you hold on to the promise verse that the Holy Spirit highlights, we discover the signs and wondrous ways in which the promise verse empowers and emboldens us. It provides us with wisdom and direction. These are treasures we need to be aware of, else we can be like fools who do not plan and act on the inheritances that are available. A business person, a farmer, a traveler would readily know how precious it is to be directed into God’s perfect will – into a path that’s good for us.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
And lean not on your own understanding;
In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He shall direct your paths. ( Proverbs 3:5-6 NKJV)
Although God has an 24x7x365 days open exchange store, available in real time wherever you are, in any country, city, or village. Because it is God’s exchange store for us, it is always available for us, anytime. We can receive from it without any delay, no logistics delay, yes, no need to wait for the next day!
These are a few of the things that are available for exchange. But I know only a few of these; the range of possibilities is limitless, and it’s up to us to define them. Here are the few items which in themselves are exciting and reason for rejoicing.
To grant [consolation and joy] to those who mourn in Zion—to give them an ornament (a garland or diadem) of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, the garment [expressive] of praise instead of a heavy, burdened, and failing spirit—that they may be called oaks of righteousness [lofty, strong, and magnificent, distinguished for uprightness, justice, and right standing with God], the planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified. (Isaiah 61:3 AMP)
From the instead of, we can see that the Kingdom of God is an exchange store – of a superior level. You can access it any time, anywhere. No cash or credit card is required.
Instead of your [former] shame you will have a double portion;
And instead of humiliation your people will shout for joy over their portion.
Therefore in their land they will possess double [what they had forfeited];
Everlasting joy will be theirs. (Isaiah 61:7 AMP)
The most important matter for a person to know is the Love of God. Knowing and being confident about Gods love changes everything. The Bible says this in the most famous verse in the Bible.
“For God so [greatly] loved and dearly prized the world, that He [even] gave His [One and] only begotten Son, so that whoever believes and trusts in Him [as Savior] shall not perish, but have eternal life. (John 3:16 AMP)
This love is amazing; it’s worth pausing and meditating on this for days, if not a lifetime. Once we start to understand this, our faith and trust in God will increase without any effort. And we get the MOST PRECIOUS gift of all – eternal life.
We are to rejoice and shout and dance knowing this: this love of God for us was not an afterthought. But this was decided before the foundation of the world.
just as [in His love] He chose us in Christ [actually selected us for Himself as His own] before the foundation of the world, so that we would be holy [that is, consecrated, set apart for Him, purpose-driven] and blameless in His sight. In love, He predestined and lovingly planned for us to be adopted to Himself as [His own] children through Jesus Christ, in accordance with the kind intention and good pleasure of His will— to the praise of His glorious grace and favor, which He so freely bestowed on us in the Beloved [His Son, Jesus Christ]. (Ephesians 1:4-6)
If you desire: Knowing God
Having a strong relationship with God.
Understanding the plans and purposes He has for your life.
Be aware of the riches of the inheritances He has for you.
Find what pleases Him.
read the Bible.
Did you know that Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour, is the Word of God? Read John 1:14.
That the Word of God became flesh in the form of Jesus Christ. And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. (John 1:14 NKJV)
Yes, read the verse above and pause. This is one reason we should read the Bible.
Did you know the importance Jesus gave to the Word of God – the Holy Bible? Jesus told, “ Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.”(Matthew 4:4 NKJV)
Every one understands the importance of food for sustaining life. But Jesus says, and it’s true, that the word of God has a greater significance. Only this can assure refreshing, new life, and eternal life for us.
Did you know that God sees Jesus when He sees us?
No longer does sin have dominion over us, nor are we slaves to sin.
We are redeemed by the blood of Jesus Christ. The resurrection of Jesus Christ has given us a new identity in Christ Jesus. Read through this section a few times consistently to begin your journey towards a new identity.
Hence, we can confidently declare our new identity in Christ.
I am a new creation in Christ Jesus. (refer verse from 2 Corinthians given below)
Christ in me is the hope of Glory. ( refer to the Colossians 1 verse given below)
I have the mind of Christ. ( refer to 1 Corinthians verse below)
The peace from the Prince of Peace reigns in me. (refer verse from Isaiah 9:6)
Only with reading the Bible can we discover verses that we can claim as our identity in Christ.
Therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. (2 Corinthians 5:17)
God [in His eternal plan] chose to make known to them how great for the Gentiles are the riches of the glory of this mystery, which is Christ in and among you, the hope and guarantee of [realizing the] glory. (Colossians 1:27 AMPC)
For who has known the mind and purposes of the Lord, so as to instruct Him? But we have the mind of Christ [to be guided by His thoughts and purposes].(1 Corinthians 2:16)
For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. (Isaiah 9:6)
In the old testament portion of the Bible, we find David, who is known as man after Gods heart. Because he knew who he was in God, he could do great exploits. Read this.
What David told his enemy, the giant Goliath, in Chapter 17 is an identity statement in the Lord. An excerpt is given below. Then David said to the Philistine, “You come to me with a sword, with a spear, and with a javelin. But I come to you in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. This day the Lord will deliver you into my hand, and I will strike you and take your head from you. And this day I will give the carcasses of the camp of the Philistines to the birds of the air and the wild beasts of the earth, that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel. Then all this assembly shall know that the Lord does not save with sword and spear; for the battle is the Lord’s, and He will give you into our hands.” (1Samuel 17:45-47 NKJV)
If you want to get what your Heavenly Father has already given you, read the Bible. Over 7,400 promises are there in the Bible. You will have to read the Bible prayerfully to know which of these are applicable to you during this season of your life.
Here are a few for your experience. Discover more by reading the Bible.
The promise mentioned here is for being saved instead of being destroyed without Jesus as one’s Lord and Saviour.
“If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” ( Romans 10:9)
The promise mentioned below is for rest.
Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. ( Mathew 11:29)
If you desire wisdom, use this verse from the Bible and ask God.
“If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.” ( James 1:5)
Read the Bible, and the Holy Spirit will highlight specific promises, one or more to totally transform your life.
Read the Bible, and you will know how important it is to love God as well as fear God. There are many more dimensions to fear of God, but here are a few verses.
“Blessed is every one who fears the Lord, Who walks in His ways.” (Psalm 128:1)
“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; A good understanding have all those who do His commandments. His praise endures forever.”(Psalm 111:10)
“I sought the Lord, and He heard me, And delivered me from all my fears.” (Psalm 34:4)
We are to fear God alone and not man. Read the Bible and be blessed in growing in the right understanding of the fear of God.
If you desire to live long, the Bible has important keys for it. A few are given below.
Desire fulfilled is a tree of life. (Ref. Proverbs 13:12)
When hope is not deferred, it makes the heart healthy. (Ref. Proverbs 13:12)
Fear of the Lord is a fountain of life.(Ref. Proverbs 14:27)
Wholesome tongue is a tree of life. (Ref. Proverbs 15:3)
Envy causes rottenness to the bones.(Ref. Proverbs 14:30)
Rejoicing causes wholesomeness to the bones. (Ref. Proverbs 14:30)
The reverent and worshipful fear of the Lord is the beginning (the chief and choice part) of Wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is insight and understanding. For by me [Wisdom from God] your days shall be multiplied, and the years of your life shall be increased. (Proverbs 9:10,11 AMPC)
Discover more keys by reading the Bible. Regular reading will also encourage you in the path to follow it. You can see that Moses on whose face Glory of God shown, had a long healthy life in every aspect of the human body, strength to climb mountains, great eyesight, and vitality. Read the verse below and be inspired to follow the commands of the Lord.
Moses was 120 years old when he died; his eye was not dim nor his natural force abated. (Deuteronomy 34:7 AMPC)
Many of us need wisdom from God to navigate through life successfully. If you are one of those, read the Bible regularly.
James 1:5 has a verse specifically which is great.
If any of you is deficient in wisdom, let him ask of the giving God [Who gives] to everyone liberally and ungrudgingly, without reproaching or fault-finding, and it will be given him. ( James 1:5 AMPC)
We know how Solomon became the wisest person after asking and receiving wisdom from God.
As we go through life, we find we can do with courage and confidence. And the Bible is the best source to find this.
For God did not give us a spirit of timidity or cowardice or fear, but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of sound judgment and personal discipline [abilities that result in a calm, well-balanced mind and self-control]. ( 2 Timothy 1:7 AMP)
When you want to use a verse like the above, you can make a declaration prayer like this.
Repeat this as often as possible through the day; write a note and keep it in your valet. Keep reading through the day, for 21 days.
Prayerfully declare.
God has given me a spirit of power and of love,
and of sound judgment and personal discipline.
I have the abilities that result in a calm,
well-balanced mind and self-control.
I reject every spirit of timidity,
cowardice, and fear, as these do not belong to me.
The 41st chapter of Isaiah has this empowering assurance from God for us.
‘Do not fear [anything], for I am with you;
Do not be afraid, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you, be assured I will help you;
I will certainly take hold of you with My righteous right hand [a hand of justice, of power, of victory, of salvation].’ (Isaiah 41:10 AMP)
We are not to fear or dread our enemies. Here is the assurance why we should be so. Be strong and courageous, do not be afraid or tremble in dread before them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not fail you or abandon you.” (Deuteronomy 31:6 AMP)
God gives us dreams and visions. Joseph, Mary’s husband, was led to accept Mary as his wife and even escape to Egypt with baby Jesus and Mary by following dreams and visions he had. Another dream brought him back from Egypt.
Joseph, one of the sons of Jacob, not only had dreams, but he could also interpret dreams. The pharaoh, the ruler of Egypt, made him the prime minister of Egypt because Joseph could interpret the pharaoh’s dream.
Here is a specific verse from the Bible you can use to pray for dreams and visions.
It shall come about after this
That I shall pour out My Spirit on all mankind;
And your sons and your daughters will prophesy,
Your old men will dream dreams,
Your young men will see visions. ( Joel 2:28 AMP)
Claim the above promise to start having dreams, in case you have not had any. Pursue and read many other instances of dreams and visions mentioned in the Bible.
When we remember and meditate on the laws of God with joy, we please God. This is so well stated in the psalms.
But his delight is in the law of the LORD,
And in His law he meditates day and night.
He shall be like a tree
Planted by the rivers of water,
That brings forth its fruit in its season,
Whose leaf also shall not wither;
And whatever he does shall prosper. (Psalm 1:2,3 NKJV)
As we read and remember the words of Jesus, follow His teachings, actions, and attitude, and we love and seek Him with all of our life and our heart, we get transformed. This is abiding in Jesus and is a key for fruitfulness.
I am the Vine; you are the branches. The one who remains in Me and I in him bears much fruit, for [otherwise] apart from Me [that is, cut off from vital union with Me] you can do nothing. (John 15:5 AMP)
We love God and seek him with all of our heart, strength, and life. As we seek Him, we are transformed by Him. Transformed by the Holy Spirit of God. In our words and actions, we would express Love, Joy, and Peace. Here is the specific verse from Paul’s epistle to the Galatians.
But the fruit of the [Holy] Spirit [the work which His presence within accomplishes] is love, joy (gladness), peace, patience (an even temper, forbearance), kindness, goodness (benevolence), faithfulness, Gentleness (meekness, humility), self-control (self-restraint, continence). Against such things there is no law [that can bring a charge]. (Galatians 5:22-23)
As you read the Bible, specifically the New Testament portion, your mind is renewed to bear the fruit of the Holy Spirit, having Jesus Christ in you.
One of the keys to be protected from sinful ways is as we hide verses from the Bible within our heart. Here is the verse from psalm 119.
Your word I have treasured and stored in my heart,
That I may not sin against You. ( Psalm 119:11 AMP)
Making a covenant with your eye is a powerful way to stay away from sin.
“I have made a covenant (agreement) with my eyes;
How then could I gaze [lustfully] at a virgin? ( Job 31:1 AMP)
As you read the Bible, you will find many verses highlighted to live a life free of sin, thus progressing towards a pure and holy life, pleasing God.
Many Christians are baptised, have the Holy Communion, get married, etc., and think Christian living is limited to this. But a bible reading, Jesus-loving Christian knows that this is far from truth. For the Bible says, “If you [really] love Me, you will keep and obey My commandments. (John 14:15 AMP).
The verses 19 to 20 from the 28th Chapter of Gospel of Mathew is the great commission each and every Christian is expected to thoroughly follow.
18 Jesus came up and said to them, “All authority (all power of absolute rule) in heaven and on earth has been given to Me. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations [help the people to learn of Me, believe in Me, and obey My words], baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe everything that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always [remaining with you perpetually—regardless of circumstance, and on every occasion], even to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:18-20 AMP)
The great commission also includes these instructions of Jesus Christ as given in Mathew 10. Thus we ought to heal the sick, cleanse the lepers.. 7 And as you go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand! 8 Cure the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, drive out demons. Freely (without pay) you have received, freely (without charge) give. (Matthew 10: 7-8 AMPC)
Thus reading the New Testment portion of the Bible, helps us to receive understanding of the great commission – so that all of us fulfil the expectations of Lord Jesus Christ for each one of us.
We first read about the tree of life in the Bible in the garden of Eden in the book of Genesis. The last time we read in the book of Revelation. Adam and Eve, however, were driven out from the garden of Eden as their sinful natures meant they were not to have access to the fruit from the tree of Life.
For increasing your understanding of the tree of life, keep reading the Bible. Here are a few verses, perhaps teasers meant to take you into a deeper drive.
A soothing tongue [speaking words that build up and encourage] is a tree of life,
But a perversive tongue [speaking words that overwhelm and depress] crushes the spirit. (Proverbs 15:4 AMP)
Don’t you feel uplifted as you can potentially choose to be the tree of life to people around you, based on your conversations.
The Bible has the most famous prayer – the prayer that starts with, Our father, who art in heaven. This prayer was what Jesus taught his disciples when they asked him to teach them to pray.
9 “Pray, then, in this way: ‘Our Father, who is in heaven, Hallowed be Your name.
10. ‘Your kingdom come, Your will be doneOn earth as it is in heaven.
11 ‘Give us this day our daily bread.
12 ‘And forgive us our debts, as we have forgiven our debtors [letting go of both the wrong and the resentment].
13 ‘And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from evil. [For Yours is the kingdom and the power, and the glory forever. Amen.]’ (Matthew 6:9-13 AMP)
When you read the Bible, read it regularly, and start learning, you will get to know that the above is wrongly known as the Lord’s prayer. The prayer which Jesus prayed for himself is found in John 17. The whole chapter is a beautiful prayer.
There is a wide range of prayers in the Bible for us to use as well as for our inspiration.
Each one of us has authority over someone. At least each and everyone can influence at least one another person. And it’s important we judiciously use the opportunity to speak up as prompted by the Holy Spirit. Remaining silent is not right.
Queen Esther had one such opportunity. Her silence could mean that the Jews in the kingdom would have suffered. May be another person would have risen to the opportunity if Queen Esther would not have risen to the occasion.
For if you remain silent at this time, liberation and rescue will arise for the Jews from another place, and you and your father’s house will perish [since you did not help when you had the chance]. And who knows whether you have attained royalty for such a time as this [and for this very purpose]?” (Esther 4:14 AMP)
We don’t want to go through life as a person who has missed opportunities. Read the Bible, study it well so that you have a fulfilled life, not missing what you should have done.
Baptism, Holy Communion, and Easter are instances when Christians remember the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ. But often it’s a shallow remembering without considering the power and potential of the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
The more we understand the resurrection of Jesus Christ, the more we are likely to see the same manifest in our life situations. Knowing the transformational power of the resurrection of Jesus Christ is a foundational to living a Christian life of signs, wonders, and miracles. In the church, I attend, we have received brilliant teachings on this. The very same power of resurrected Jesus Christ is available for bringing change to our life.
Here are a few verses on the topic.
Now to Him who is able to [carry out His purpose and] do superabundantly more than all that we dare ask or think [infinitely beyond our greatest prayers, hopes, or dreams], according to His power that is at work within us (Ephesians 3:20 AMPC). Read this verse a few times so that abundant possibilities of this verse sinks in.
Here we have another verse that ties in the baptism to the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
We were buried therefore with Him by the baptism into death, so that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glorious [power] of the Father, so we too might [habitually] live and behave in newness of life. (Romans 6:4 AMPC)
Read the Bible to discover more such verses with a daily Bible reading habit.
We are not be be living an isolated life, but rather we are to live a life of interaction and engagement with people around us to benifit and bless them, encourage them, give them reason to have a hopeful and joyful life because of all what we have received from Jesus Christ.
Here is the verse about salt of the eart and light of the world from the amplified version of the Bible.
13 You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste (its strength, its quality), how can its saltness be restored? It is not good for anything any longer but to be thrown out and trodden underfoot by men.14 You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden.15 Nor do men light a lamp and put it under a peck measure, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all in the house.16 Let your light so shine before men that they may see your moral excellence and your praiseworthy, noble, and good deeds and recognize and honor and praise and glorify your Father Who is in heaven. (Matthew 5:13-16 AMPC)
Reading the Bible will take us on a journey to a self-less life, one that is blessing and encouraging others. God bless you richly as you diligently pursue this.
Our thoughts matter so much that we need to control them.
For as he thinks in his heart, so is he [in behavior—one who manipulates]. (Proverbs 23:7a)
As we reign and direct our thoughts, we can hedge and keep our minds from the way of the world. And do not be conformed to this world [any longer with its superficial values and customs], but be transformed and progressively changed [as you mature spiritually] by the renewing of your mind [focusing on godly values and ethical attitudes], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His plan and purpose for you]. (Romans 12:2 AMP)
Here is a powerful verse we received as instruction in the church I attend. As a family, we used to speak this verse, remind each other, have it as a mobile screen saver, and our lap tops. As we etched this in our minds, we have started to practice ignoring thoughts not meeting this criteria. But it took weeks and months of regularly remembering and speaking this verse among ourselves as a family.
Finally, believers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable and worthy of respect, whatever is right and confirmed by God’s word, whatever is pure and wholesome, whatever is lovely and brings peace, whatever is admirable and of good repute; if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think continually on these things [center your mind on them, and implant them in your heart]. (Philippians 4:8 AMP)
There are many verses not mentioned here for you to mine from a daily Bible reading habit.
Obedience is an signifiant aspect of Christian life. And the Bible has innumerable instances of individuals like you and me walking in obedience. Obediance to God, showing trust in God.
Here is verse where obedience is equated to love. So profound, good to spend time and ponder on it.
If you [really] love Me, you will keep (obey) My commands.
And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, and Standby), that He may remain with you forever—
The Spirit of Truth, Whom the world cannot receive (welcome, take to its heart), because it does not see Him or know and recognize Him. But you know and recognize Him, for He lives with you [constantly] and will be in you. (John 14:15-17 AMPC)
Abraham, who is known to many Christians as father of faith, obeyed God when He asked him to sacrifice his son Issac. God tested him. But in obedience, without a grudging heart, he obeyed. And we know that Abraham saw the provion of the Lord for the sacrifice.
And Abraham stretched forth his hand and took hold of the knife to slay his son. But the Angel of the Lord called to him from heaven and said, Abraham, Abraham! He answered, Here I am. And He said, Do not lay your hand on the lad or do anything to him; for now I know that you fear and revere God, since you have not held back from Me or begrudged giving Me your son, your only son. Then Abraham looked up and glanced around, and behold, behind him was a ram caught in a thicket by his horns. And Abraham went and took the ram and offered it up for a burnt offering and an ascending sacrifice instead of his son! So Abraham called the name of that place The Lord Will Provide. And it is said to this day, On the mount of the Lord it will be provided. (Genesis 22:10-14 AMPC)
These and other instances in the Bible are available for you to read and think about. As you read them, be transformed into a life of obedience to God.
Holy Communion, also known as the Lord’s Table, is a powerful moment of remembering the crucifixion of Jesus Christ and partaking of blood and body in the form of bread and wine. During this sacred moment, we remember all that Jesus Christ did for us. Jesus Christ at the time of the last supper with his disciples, an instruction mentioned in this verse.
Now as they were eating Jesus took bread, and after blessing it, He broke it and gave it to the disciples, and said, “Take, eat; this is My body.” And when He had taken a cup and given thanks, He gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you; for this is My blood of the [new and better] covenant, which [ratifies the agreement and] is being poured out for many [as a substitutionary atonement] for the forgiveness of sins. (Mathew 26:26-28 AMP)
The abiding presence of Jesus Christ is our portion through the Holy Communion.
And Jesus said to them, “I assure you and most solemnly say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood [unless you believe in Me as Savior and believe in the saving power of My blood which will be shed for you], you do not have life in yourselves. The one who eats My flesh and drinks My blood [believes in Me, accepts Me as Savior] has eternal life [that is, now possesses it], and I will raise him up [from the dead] on the last day. For My flesh is true [spiritual] food, and My blood is true [spiritual] drink. He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood [believes in Me, accepts Me as Savior] remains in Me, and I [in the same way remain] in him.
Just as the living Father sent Me, and I live because of the Father, even so the one who feeds on Me [believes in Me, accepts Me as Savior] will also live because of Me. This is the Bread which came down out of heaven. It is not like [the manna that] our fathers ate and they [eventually] died; the one who eats this Bread [believes in Me, accepts Me as Savior] will live forever.” (John 6:53-58 AMP)
The Bible has many other verses relating to Holy Communion for you to read and have the joy of discovering. Partake of Holy Communion with the right understanding and experience signs of wonder, healing, and breakthroughs. Personally, we know of many miracles from sincere partaking of the Holy Communion.
Find every excuse to read the Bible and become the hope from Christ Jesus for people around you because Christ lives in you, His word is alive in you.
