Yes, this is true. Much before the nations of the world began to intercept missiles and drones, our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ intercepts the enemy’s attack and saves us.
Though many experience this protection and saving grace, many are not aware of this powerful truth and mystery. Here are a few topics under which this powerful truth is revealed. Choose the topic you want to read first, as per your interest. Else read one after the other.

Which Bible verses point to interception?
Interception is the act of stopping an enemy’s missile or drone before it reaches its target. Think of it like a goalkeeper in football: when a threat is launched, the defense system quickly calculates its path and launches its own “interceptor” missile to hit and destroy it mid-air.
On March 11, 2026, Iran launched 39 drones and 13 missiles (6 ballistic and 7 cruise) toward the UAE. Defense systems such as THAAD and Patriot, supported by US Navy ships, worked together to intercept them.
The UAE military successfully destroyed all of these threats in the air. However, the falling debris still caused damage to the ground.
So, interception is highly effective, but even when successful, it cannot completely remove the risks.
Interceptor ranges vary widely — from short-range systems like Iron Dome that protect cities from rockets, to long-range systems like Arrow 3 and S‑400 that can strike threats hundreds of kilometers away, even outside Earth’s atmosphere.
| System | Origin | Range (Distance) | What it Protects |
| Akash | India | 25 km –30 km | Short range; protects bases or convoys. |
| Iron Dome | Israel | 4 km –70 km | Short range; famous for stopping rockets and drones. |
| Patriot | USA | 70 km –160 km (varies by missile type) | Medium range; used worldwide against aircraft and cruise missiles. |
| THAAD | USA | Up to 200 km | High altitude; intercepts ballistic missiles as they re-enter from space. |
| Arrow 2 & 3 | Israel | 90 km – 2,400 km | Long range: Arrow 3 can hit targets outside the atmosphere. |
| S‑400 | Russia | Up to 400 km | Long range: tracks and intercepts aircraft, drones, and missiles. |
Modern interceptor systems usually stop 80–95% of incoming missiles or drones. This means most threats are destroyed before they reach their targets, but even a few that get through — or falling debris — can still cause damage.
The numbers also show a big cost difference. An Iranian Shahed drone costs about $20,000, while a Patriot missile used to shoot it down can cost $4 million or more. This creates what experts call a war of attrition — attackers use cheap drones to drain the defender’s expensive missiles and resources.
These numbers show that interception is powerful but expensive. Countries are now testing cheaper options like lasers and drone-killing drones to make defense more affordable against swarms of low-cost threats.
In our daily life, we would if we take the time and effort to remember various instances of near-miss dangerous accidents, near-miss escapes from life-threatening situations. All these are due to timely interventions by the Angels of God assigned to us. If you have not encountered any of these miraculous acts of protection, ask anyone above 40 years of age.
The precision and power of God’s interception is such that no force can stand against it. Here are a few instances from the Bible.
Israelites who were tired of being slaves and being exploited by Pharaoh were bent upon leaving Egypt for the promised land, and were pursued by the Pharaoh, the King of Egypt. But God’s interception came in the splitting of the Red sea and the Israelites could cross it on dry ground. The Pharaoh and his mighty army – all were intercepted and all were drowned in the Red Sea.
The story of David Vs Goliath also shows Divine interception. David aimed the sling at the giant Goliath. Then David put his hand in his bag and took out a stone; and he slung it and struck the Philistine in his forehead, so that the stone sank into his forehead, and he fell on his face to the earth. ( 1 Samuel 17:49 NKJV) You can see Goliath fell on his face, only because he was pushed by divine intervention from behind.
We know from the Bible the life story of the prophet Jonah. He did not want to go to Ninevah, the capital of the Assyrian empire. He was to go and speak God’s warning to the people there. But he refused to go. Jonah was angry toward the brutal Assyrians—who were enemies of Israel—and fled in the opposite direction toward Tarshish. When he was at sea, God sent a violent storm that threatened to sink Jonah’s ship. The sailors, knowing that the storm is a punishment for Jonah’s flight, throw him overboard at his own request.
But the whale swallowed Jonah, as God did not want him drowned – rather God wanted Jonah to do what he was purposed to do – go to Nineveh and preach. Here we see that the whale was Gods interception – protecting him from drowning.
What the enemy meant for evil was turned into good. Yes, the spiritual interception not only protects against the enemy’s evil intent. But it also transforms the evil intent into good.
Here are a few verses:
But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive. (Genesis 50:20 NKJV)
As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good in order to bring about this present outcome, that many people would be kept alive [as they are this day]. (Genesis 50:20 AMPC)
The precision and sharpness of the Word of God are as precise as the surgical tools.
For the Word that God speaks is alive and full of power [making it active, operative, energizing, and effective]; it is sharper than any two-edged sword, penetrating to the dividing line of the breath of life (soul) and [the immortal] spirit, and of joints and marrow [of the deepest parts of our nature], exposing and sifting and analyzing and judging the very thoughts and purposes of the heart. AMPC
For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. NKJV
For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. NIV
For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires. NLT
