The Bible has a practical and simple process to receive mercy. While the burden of sin is enormous. Shame, guilt, and condemnation are the default for any person who has a burden of sin.
But when we choose to seek repentance, we receive mercy.
Proverbs 28:13 states this beautiful way to get rid of the heavy weight of sin and a sinful lifestyle. The verse is given below in 3 versions of the Bible. Read these verses twice prayerfully. Read with all of your heart, meaning it.
People who conceal their sins will not prosper, but if they confess and turn from them, they will receive mercy. (version NLT)
He who covers his transgressions will not prosper, but whoever confesses and forsakes his sins will obtain mercy. (version AMPC)
He that covereth his sins shall not prosper, but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy. (Version KJV)
After you have read it prayerfully with all your heart, ideally aloud, so you hear it.
Then take 3 to 5 minutes to confess – speak out the sins you are sorry for and ashamed of.
Then speak out aloud so you can hear that you forsake these sins and would not repeat them anymore.
Ask Lord Jesus to forgive you.
In this verse, three aspects stand out.
God gives mercy to those who carry out these two steps.
God bless you.
