The Holy Bible is divided into two. One set of books is called the Old Testament, the other set is the New Testament. Many do not know the essential difference. When we know better, we can apply that understanding to get greater fruitfulness from our lives.

A1) The Old Testament indeed gave us Moses and the laws. Whereas from the New Testament, we receive Jesus Christ. Grace and Truth came by Jesus Christ.
For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. ( John 1:17 NKJV)

A2) As per the Old Testament, once every year a sinner has to go to the temple with a blemishless lamb/animal/bird etc to sacrifice for the washing away of one’s sins.

Whereas in the New Testament, it’s the sacrifice of God’s lamb, Jesus Christ on the cross. As Jesus Christ was without sin, he was a blemishless lamb. He died on the cross for the sins of the world. Any time a person believes in his heart and confesses by his mouth that Jesus Christ is the lord and saviour of his/her life and believes in the crucifixion of Jesus for his/her sins, he is free from sin.

Thus the sacrifice of the New Testament is one time and superior. Jesus Christ instituted the Holy Communion so that we partake and remember the significance of the crucifixion of Jesus. All this so that we do not continue to live a sinful life.
