Often we know that the first commandment is about loving God.
Some of us know that it’s about loving God with all of our strength.
Jesus called this commandment the great commandment. This is how it’s stated in the Holy Bible.
Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. [38] This is the first and great commandment. This is from Mathew 22:37
Although I knew the words, I did not know the depth and greater meaning of it, until this morning.
We know that the church is the bride of Christ. So are each one of us who believe that we are the bride. The way the bride longs for and desires for the bridegroom is with the all consuming love and passion. Nothing else matters for the bride other than to please the bride groom, to be in his presence. It’s a longing like no other. The amazing truth is that the consuming love exists in the bride groom for the bride.
Cannot write further without jumping and rejoicing. I and you are meant to yearn and desire and love the Lord as a bride desires the bride groom.
Be blessed, meditate and pray and celebrate this truth.
