Open letter to a friend who gets angry often, who uses harsh words without any restraint.

Open letter to a friend

This was a letter to a Christian friend, a dear brother. I have decided to publish this as this could benefit others.

Dear brother, you are no longer a teenager or a smaller kid that the world will tolerate anything which was amusing or entertaining when you were smaller.

You need to ask God for Wisdom
Proverbs 9:10, “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.” Proverbs 10:27, “The fear of the Lord prolongs days: but the years of the wicked shall be shortened.”

Time is running out
Read 1 Corinthians 13th chapter as many times as required with a desire to understand it and correct your thinking and behaviour. Your sudden spurts of anger and speaking wickedness and accusing others are not helping you.

Recent trip to Boston I was trying to speak correction to a relative about how important it is to love a brother who is around us, if we say we love God.
1 John 4:20 Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar. For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen.
As I read this verse I remembered something as like a memory flash. I was made aware of the log in my eyes, so in quick obedience I called and greeted another brother whom I had not spoken to for a few years. My siblings and my wife are witnesses – they were along with me going around in a taxi in Boston.

Even this morning, my younger son gave a sweet loving feedback and I received the feedback for change. All of us need to get feedback from our loved ones. And be willing to change. I am saying these things to remind you that although I am older in years, I still have very many issues in my life. I am trying to correct and change things on a daily basis.

You may know these verses about anger
Whoever is slow to anger has great understanding, but he who has a hasty temper exalts folly. Proverbs 14:29
A soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger Proverbs 15:1

All of us have many shortcomings
Confessing our sins and asking for the Lord’s mercy and forgiveness is important. We have a very interesting verse in Psalms 69:5 which says.  O God you know my foolishness; and my sins are not hidden from you.

God has given you intelligence, observation power and many other skills. You need to use these well.

Be the sunshine – sleep well
Sleeping at night is important. Getting sunshine produces Melatonin in your body which gives you sleep. Live is a gift from God. Steward it well. You are meant to be the salt of the earth and the light of the world. Period.

Much Love,
Your loving brother in Christ Jesus
