Many doubt that God knows us.
Some may think so, perhaps when you go through tough times. Others may think so at all times.
But most certainly, the truth is that God knows each one of us. Have no doubt about God’s knowing you or even loving you.
Here are a few specific scripture verses that clearly show that God knows us well. So don’t entertain the doubt that God is near you, whatever the circumstances you may face. As you stop being busy and start seeking God, you will find Him. The scripture verse states that: Be still and know that I am God. (Psalm 46:10). Seek and you will find. (Matthew 7:8)
A few instances from my life clearly show how much God knows us, loves us, and is so timely in protecting us in our daily lives.
Remember that God knows you individually; he knows you by name. He even formed you when you were in your mother’s womb. He paid the price with his bloodshed and death on the cross and brought us from a life of slavery to sin and gave us victory, making us righteous with eternal life. We have become so secure that we belong to the all-mighty creator of heaven and earth.
Thus says the LORD, who created you, O Jacob (you can choose to replace Jacob with your old name or nature), and He who formed you, O Israel (you can choose to replace Israel with your new name or nature): “Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; You are Mine. (Isaiah 43:1) Yea, I cannot contain the joy of knowing that we belong to Jesus!!
God knows you so intimately; he knows details you would not know. So it’s wiser to trust in God and not to fear. Here is the verse that points to this. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not fear, therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows. (Luke 12:7)
When your circumstances are tough, bear in mind that the trials, when undergone with the right attitude, produce perseverance. When you press on with perseverance, you develop character, and as your character develops, you get hope, and hope does not disappoint you as the love of Christ Jesus is poured upon you.
God knows us so well; he knows when we are in danger. Things can be so sudden that even before we consider informing Him, he knows it and takes action. I remember that when my baby brother was crawling on the floor. A huge, thick, heavy single-piece wooden cut slat (that supports the mattress) was placed on the wall as the room furniture was being reorganized. Unknown to me that this heavy wooden piece could fall, I tampered with it, and it fell over my baby brother, who was crawling. The baby would be crushed, but the Lord sent His angels and prevented any mishap.
I also remember that a very dear friend who is my pastor who was drowning in Jumeirah Beach experienced a miraculous escape when he reached the bottom of the sea.
Here is the verse that shows us that God protects us by hiding us and protecting what belongs to us from danger. For in the time of trouble, He shall hide me in His pavilion; in the secret place of His tabernacle, He shall hide me; He shall set me high upon a rock. (Psalms 27:5)
Here is prophet Elisha and his servant. The king of Israel sent his horses and chariots and a great army to seek Elisha the prophet. This great army had surrounded the city and prophet Elisha’s servant had panicked, and he sought help from the prophet. But the prophet was in peace as his eyes were open in the heavenly realm. He could see a host of heavenly angels sent by God to protect the prophet Elisha and his servant. Then the prophet told this comforting statement to his servant, which God can perhaps be speaking to any of us as well. Later, we see prophet Elisa open the spiritual eyes of his servant so that he could also start seeing the angelic forces protecting them. And he answered Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them. (2 Kings 6:16)
Remember that God has known you for long, even before you knew yourself, when you were formed, even when you were knitted in your mother’s womb. Yeah, all these years from your verification beginning. We can read what King David penned in Psalms as he sings to God.
For You formed my inward parts;
You covered me in my mother’s womb.
I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; marvelous are Your works, and that my soul knows very well.
My frame was not hidden from You,
When I was made in secret, and skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.
Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book, they all were written: The days fashioned for me,
As yet, there were none of them. (Psalm 139:13-16)
In fact it gets still better; God knows you; HE chose us and placed us within Him before the foundations of the world. No wonder He knows us so very well; all this is beyond our comprehension.
Just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved. (Ephesians 1:4-16)
Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, our God, is within us. All these show the depth to which God knows us. He knows us so well and because He is within us, we are stronger even if we may seem to be weak.
You are of God, little children, and have overcome them because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. (1 John 4:4)
Yes, God thinks a lot about each one of us, as we are precious to Him. I am in wonder that the Lord God, the creator of the universe, thinks so much about us. His thoughts about us are so many; they are innumerable. I can never ever imagine the huge processing capacity of God’s mind.
How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God! How great is the sum of them! If I should count them, they would be more in number than the sand; When I awake, I am still with You. (Psalms 139:17-18)
Sincerely desire that our eyes are open to increased awareness of God’s knowing us, how He’s ever present with us, and how much He loves us, cares for us, and protects us. If only we knew how much God loves us, we would seek to be in His presence, seek to please Him.
